MENTAL & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE
(AVAILABLE AT BOTH LOCATIONS)
Inner City Health Center believes behavioral and general health care needs are key to mental health and wellness. We are committed to caring for the whole person beyond their physical health needs. The behavioral health counselors provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services within an integrated model of care.
We help adults, children and families manage stress and other mental health needs beyond those related to depression and anxiety.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIANS:
- Behavioral Health Clinicians often are professionals with advanced degrees in Social work, Psychology or Counseling.
- Behavioral Health Clinicians have unscheduled, same day visits (i.e., warm handoffs) as well as scheduled visits.
- Medical and Dental providers can make referrals during their examinations. Patients can always “self-refer”.
- Behavioral Health Clinicians help patients to do more things in their day-to-day lives that are important to them, even when not feeling well.
- Behavioral Health Clinicians do NOT prescribe meds but do assist with adherence to medications.
